SHIFT TO A SERVICE ECONOMY IN COLOMBIA:
Contributing to the development of the world economy and countries competitiveness against others, the service sector has been growing during the last years providing financial stability with economic growth and employment. For companies the importance of providing an excellent service united with their productions is of great relevance to increase sales and market share, especially in a globalization time that is lived nowadays.
According to some research by “invest in Colombia” the service sector provides 57,5% of the Gross domestic product (GDP) so this show us that Colombia is seeking to have a potential rapid growth and that’s why is has become one of the best countries to invest due to their social factors and opportunities in business services.
As we can see on the following graph the income that the country is receiving from the service economy is growing and it has an exponential growth. So this makes the country an excellent investment opportunity for people and also for the benefit of the economy. “En el primer trimestre de 2016 respecto al mismo periodo de 2015, el Producto Interno Bruto creció 2,5%, explicado principalmente por el comportamiento de las siguientes ramas de actividad: industria manufacturera; construcción y establecimientos financieros, seguros, actividades inmobiliarias y servicios a las empresas.” (DANE, 2017)
Related to our business project, the shift to an economic service is an advantage. Eventhough, Colombia is still a developing country but the way in which the services are increasing their market share and growth help our industry in a positive way. The investment in IT and software, and financial sector provides us a way to develop an excellent platform an app for consumers with good opportunities of finance, totally adequate to stand out in the service sector.
