PROPENSITY OF PEOPLE TO SPEND
Colombian culture is based on spending, where debts don’t matter if they get what they want. Reports recently made show that Colombians are consumers of any kind of things, their level of disposable income is high at any time of a year, but in holidays and special days this level increase such a 7.3%.
“Banco de la Republica” shows that debts of Colombian families reached $ 165.7 billion at the end of 2015, of which 67.5 % are consumer debts and 32.5 % for housing. The report also notes that the consumer debts grew 6.8 % , while housing 9%. This percetnages continue growing since 2012 and the last dat tooked in the last trimester of 2016 shows that housing can increase to 10.5% in 2017.
We can see that people are willing to obtain different goods and services without having the money and knowing that they are spending more that what they actually receive from their income.
The philosophy of people is to always acquire all they needs and wants having debts instead of investing in a business and in the future buy their products without debts.
