Attitudes toward product quality
Many consumers are changing this exclusive awareness of prices for perceptions of value and additional quality. "Being important the price, as always, Colombians have been adding other criteria when choosing the point of sale, where the right supply to the purchase mission, is the most relevant," says Cristian Arce, Director of Retail Services In Nielsen Colombia. Likewise, Colombians surveyed consider that factors associated with convenience (55%), as well as the assortment found in the store (49%), also strongly determine their decision.
Colombian retailers are the best positioned in Latin America, according to the perception of participating consumers. The relationship of satisfaction with the needs of products they have and the offerings provided by retailers is positive. Seventy-one percent said that their main grocery store has all the products they are looking for, 66% agree that they get valuable offers and 66% that the retailer understands their preferences and product requirements.
The demands of consumers are always changing and in order to remain relevant in the market it is essential to revise, over and over again, the sources of unsatisfied demand and to provide the products and services that keep consumers satisfied. In the country, the supply of additional services within the stores is varied and some like drugstores (58%), cafeterias services (57%) and banks (54%) are the most valued. However, health services (35%) and postal services (32%) are those identified as not available, but with potential use.
Considering the above, the Colombians surveyed agreed that the shopping experience tends to be pleasant (70%) and for that reason only 37% consider that grocery shopping is a routine and exhausting task. Currently the portfolio of options is wide and one of the lines that Colombians most appreciate is healthy food. 67% actively seek products with healthy ingredients and 59% carefully read nutritional labels.
